Letter 21: Fell down the stairs!

Dear Tim:

On Thursday(4/26), it was the boys' volleyball championship, when I was walking down the stairs, I slipped, my butt fell to the ground, I was scared silly, at that moment I couldn't find the stair handle. Fortunately, Candy grabbed me, so I only fell half the floor, didn't hurt my bone. Next Monday(4/30) it's the girls' last game, I am confident that we will win the fifth place!

This Saturday, we went to TNUA(Taipei National University of the Arts) to took the photo for our poster. Jack and Melvyn are our photographers, because we are lack of finance, let me show you some selfies.

Q&A
Many American women would make clothing for the families from old flour sacks because it was too far for them to get to the market. The reason why were the flour bags in Taiwan only used to make clothing for boys, but not for girls is because the material was too rough for girls. The humorous logo on the boys' clothing is show the relationship of America and Taiwan.

Letter 20: Volleyball Competition

Dear Tim:
The girls won the first game! If we win the game on Wednesday(4/25), we will be in the semifinals. Let me tell you who’s on the game, Cathy, Angela, Selena, Candy, Vivian, Allison, Sabrina, and I. The boys are all on the game, as you know that we only have six boys, so every of them have to play. Unfortunately, the first game they competed with had three players from volleyball team, so they lost. But they already did their utmost, especially Hugo, he could pass the ball that the others attacked, he even lied prone to pass the ball.

Our annual class trip will be hold in June, we’re going to Kenting, Ida amusement park, I am very excited about this.

Letter 19:

Dear Tim:

We have a volleyball competition on Tuesday(4/17), most of us have prepared hard of this. Since two weeks ago, the players started to practice, we arrive school at 7 every morning, this means I have to wake up at 5:30! We also practice at weekend, hope we could have a good achievement.

The dragon boat races, Arizona style makes me remind of that I had once make a boat by cardboard. Do you know the song "Count on me", sang by Mars Bruno?
Here's the lyrics:
If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea,
I'll sail the world to find you
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see,
I'll be the light to guide you
Find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need
You can count on me like one two three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it I can count on you like four three two
You'll be there

'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah
Three years ago, when I was in junior high, we had a English singing contest, this was the song our class the sang. We made the boat act in concert with the lyrics.

Letter 18: A five-day holiday

Because of the Tomb Sweeping Day, last week we had a five-day holiday. On this festival we would visit our ancestors’ and family members’ graves to pay the respects. Some of the Tomb Sweeping Day customs include burning ghost money and presenting food offerings. But I have never gone tomb sweeping, because my mother considered that children don't need to be there.

So this holiday my parents took me to Tamsui Old Street, it's near our school, also on the north of Taipei. The must-try food there is "Ah Gei". It is a tofu stuffed with crystal noodle and sealed with fish paste. It used to be the seafarers' dessert.

Tamsui is also a good place to date, the sunset there is beautiful. Here are some photos I took.

Don't you think the cloud looks like a dragon?
The reason we moved is because the last place we lived is rented house, and the landlord wanted the house back, so we had to move. I'll still study in ZZSH, but the distance to school will be further. I used to live in Banqiao, now I live in Tucheng, ZZSH is near Tamsui.
